You may have found a public-university course you like, only to discover a missing prerequisite, a closed intake or an unsuccessful application. That does not end your search. A private programme or a preparation route may offer another way forward—provided it teaches what you need and its full cost fits your plan.

This guide compares seven providers operating in Germany. It focuses on analytics, computing and related business programmes. It is a starting shortlist for individual assessment, not a claim that everyone rejected by a public university will be accepted.

First identify why your public-university application did not work

A missed deadline and a missing computing prerequisite call for different solutions. If the problem was timing or a competitive selection result, another suitable intake may help. If your degree lacks essential subject content, look for a genuine conversion or pre-master route. If your institution or qualification is not recognised, a tuition payment does not resolve that academic-recognition problem.

Write down the reason, then compare it with each new course. Keep affordable public options in your shortlist where you meet their requirements. A private course deserves consideration because of its fit, delivery and support, rather than simply because it is available.

Seven providers and programme routes to compare

Evidence status: BSBI, IU, NEC, SRH and UE have published route details below. Gisma needs written resolution of conflicting English thresholds and 2027 prices. ISM is a preliminary lead because current fee and admissions pages could not be retrieved. Every offer still needs individual eligibility and intake confirmation.

Fees below are published figures checked on the review date. Living costs are additional. Undated recurring intake months do not establish that a specific 2027 intake has open places.

BSBI
MSc Data Analytics
Berlin; 18 months; full-time on campus; English. February, May and October are listed, without guaranteeing a particular year’s availability.Recognised bachelor’s; minimum age 21; IELTS 6.0 overall listed. An experience route is also described.€14,425 displayed; obtain the intake-specific total and discount conditions. University for the Creative Arts is the listed UK academic partner/certifying institution.A broader published bachelor-entry route to investigate when a highly specific public-course prerequisite is the obstacle.
IU — formerly IUBH
MSc Computer Science, Data Science specialisation
Cologne; on campus; English; 24 months; 120 ECTS. April and October starts. IU is the degree institution.180-ECTS-equivalent degree focused on computing; minimum grade requirement and admissions interview. IELTS Academic 6.5; APS requirement stated for Indian applicants.Semester payment listing: €16,600 tuition with advertised discount, versus €20,000 reference price; €1,500 registration and €226.80 per semester ticket extra. Reconfirm discount availability. For applicants with computing preparation; a mechanical degree alone does not establish eligibility.
New European College
Master of Business Management (MBM)
Munich; English; 90 ECTS; three semesters. Dutch degree awarded by Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences. No prior work experience is listed for MBM.Business bachelor’s, research/project evidence, references and interview. MBA is separate and requires three years’ post-degree business experience.
Gisma University of Applied Sciences
MSc Data Science, AI and Digital Business
German campus programme; 12-, 18- and 24-month tracks listed. January, April, July and October intakes advertised. Confirm campus and track in the offer.Relevant backgrounds listed include business, economics, social sciences, engineering and computing. The 2026 fee schedule lists total master’s tuition: 60 ECTS €16,250; 90 ECTS €19,200; 120 ECTS €25,100. These are 2026 reference rates; obtain the fee and credit route for your 2027 offer.

Worth investigating for interdisciplinary applicants. Its official India admissions-assessment service confirms a route for Indian enquiries; that service does not confer admission or replace APS.
SRH University
MSc Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
Heidelberg; full-time, on campus, English; 120 ECTS over four semesters/two years. Published starts: 1 April and 1 October; specific 2027 availability needs confirmation.Listed backgrounds include computing, data science, IT, AI, data analysis, mathematics and business informatics; English evidence, CV and motivation required.Non-EU tuition €6,750 per semester × four = €27,000, plus €1,000 enrolment. University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE)
MSc Data Science
Select the German Potsdam/Innovation Hub option, not Dubai. English; 60/90/120-ECTS routes; January, March, July and September listed.Bachelor’s degree; B2 English; statistics preparation of at least 3 ECTS or a UE pre-master. Appropriate prior credits determine the route. From €12,550 yearly displayed, not the total for every route. Ask for the full contract cost and German-campus delivery details.A statistics/pre-master route worth exploring. UE publishes an Indian-applicant guide and India assessment support.
International School of Management (ISM)
MSc Business Intelligence & Data Science
Preliminary option: full-time programme, with Hamburg among published campuses; three taught semesters plus one thesis semester. Verify the selected campus and intake before shortlisting.Official admissions text requires a recognised bachelor’s with at least 180 ECTS or equivalent, plus specified prior knowledge. Exact prerequisites need review.Current total fee, intake, English thresholds and campus availability not verified here. Request programme-specific terms.ISM has a dedicated Indian-applicant admissions guide. Suitable background and admission still need individual assessment.

A mechanical engineer and a commerce graduate need different shortlists

Imagine two applicants with the same CGPA. One has mechanical engineering with numerical methods and a programming project; the other has commerce with statistics and finance. Their marks alone will not decide which analytics course fits. The first should document computing depth for technical routes. The second should compare business-oriented routes and the statistics preparation they expect.

Our transcript worksheet helps organise that evidence. Ask for written academic assessment before assuming a conversion route or paying for preparation.

Study location and degree-awarding institution are different facts

For every offer, record who teaches you, where you attend classes, who awards the qualification and its exact title. The comparison identifies BSBI’s UK partner and NEC’s Dutch award separately from their German teaching locations. Verify the recognition needed for your intended next step with the responsible authority and awarding institution. Do not infer the award’s country solely from a campus address.

Calculate the budget before comparing discounts

Start with the contracted tuition for the whole programme. Add required registration charges, any preparation course, housing for the actual study period, insurance, travel and a reserve. Record a tuition advance as a payment towards tuition where the contract says it is credited, so you do not count it twice.

For example, NEC’s three-semester MBM tuition is €21,900 using the published €7,300 semester rate. Adding the listed €6,100 pre-master brings tuition to €28,000 before other charges and living costs. This is a calculation from published rates, not an individual quotation. The 2026/27 fee page’s start-year label must be checked against your offer. Its refund terms also need careful review before payment.

Use the total-cost worksheet to compare the courses on the same basis. A discount only belongs in the confirmed budget after it appears in your written offer.

APS and dMAT still belong in your Germany plan

Choosing a private provider does not by itself establish an exemption. Read the Germany guide’s APS and dMAT sections for the current applicant-group and transition rules. Check the procedure for your qualification and intended intake separately from a college’s admission assessment.

Questions to resolve before accepting a place

  • Does the written offer identify the German campus, mode, credits, intake and final award?
  • Has admissions assessed your degree, transcript and any missing prerequisites?
  • Are English conditions, preparation requirements and their costs clear?
  • What is the whole-course tuition, payment schedule and cancellation/refund policy?
  • What evidence can the provider supply for the specific programme’s graduate outcomes, project support and employer links?

Published career possibilities are useful for exploring roles. They do not establish your likelihood of a job. Compare curriculum, assessed projects and support services with the work you want to do.

Official sources and further checks

Programme links in the table lead to official providers. Additional sources: NEC entry requirements, NEC 2026/27 fees, Gisma India assessment support, UE Indian-applicant guide, ISM Indian-applicant guide. Some details remain unverified and are labelled in the comparison.
